It can be done using light sedation, or general anesthesia if you prefer. If a great deal of neck fat has to be removed, then general anesthesia is preferred. Usually, you can go home within a few hours, and recover in the comfort of your home.
Following the procedure, you may be sore for a few days. Dr. Berris can give you medication to ease the discomfort. Another of the benefits of neck liposuction is that your stitches will simply dissolve in a week to ten days, so you will not have to come back to have them removed.
People usually are very pleased with their new neckline, and feel more self-confident. Keep in mind, of course, that neck liposuction is not a substitute for a good diet and regular exercise.
