Laser Resurfacing Skin Treatment
If you’re looking to rejuvenate dull, wrinkled, or loose skin, laser skin treatment may be the right choice for you.
Our office offers a full spectrum of laser skin treatments from fractional laser treatment with no downtime to full ablative CO2 laser resurfacing for deeper deep lines and wrinkles.
For patients with deep fixed lines and wrinkles, full ablative CO2 resurfacing may be the best option. The removal of the top layers of skin stimulate the dermis, (the deepest layer of your skin) to produce more collagen. This improves the structure and elasticity of your skin. This treatment can reverse the effects of sun damage, wrinkles, age spots, acne scars and other scarring.
Although there is significant downtime with this procedure, it is clearly the gold standard and achieves the best results for deep lines and wrinkles. This procedure takes approximately one hour to perform. A local anesthetic is used along with twilight sleep to assure the patient’s comfort. This treatment will vaporize and removed the upper layers of skin along with it the patient’s wrinkles and brown spots. Over the next few days a new layer of skin will be produced and as it heels, gradually tightens the skin. It can achieve a 10-20% tightening of the tissue, erasing fine lines and wrinkles and reducing deeper lines by up to 50%. The treatment does leave one with a sunburn-like color to the skin which will gradually fade over a few weeks. The results are lone-lasting and reset the “aging clock”. Over the coming years, patients will continue to age and develop wrinkles, but the relative improvement from having this treatment will be maintained for up to a decade. A good skin care program, which can be discussed with our esthetician, will significantly prolong the effects. Fair skinned patients respond best to this type of ablative laser resurfacing. While this treatment is great for wrinkles and brown spots, it will not treat excess skin or fat, and some patients will achieve their maximum benefit by additional procedures such as a facelift.
Patients who do not have the down time for full ablative laser resurfacing, our office offers a fractional CO2 resurfacing option where the laser will precisely alternate tiny treated areas with adjacent normal skin. Although this does not give quite as dramatic a result as full ablative resurfacing, it can significantly improve the lines while decreasing the healing time and postoperative redness period by 50%.

I had interviewed several doctors and my decision to have Dr Berris MD provide my surgical procedures was by far my best possible choice. And thank you so very much to his staff.
From first appointment for evaluation, staff getting authorization for upper eyelid surgery and forehead lift, and then to surgery, all staff were so helpful, courteous, and caring. I would refer others to Dr. Craig Berris.
